Midrash for Bava Metzia 61:17

א"ל ההוא מדרבנן לרבא ואימא (ויקרא יט, יז) הוכח חדא זימנא תוכיח תרי זמני

for when running among the vineyard it becomes lacerated, but not when feeding among the vineyards.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Thus on Raba's interpretation the Mishnah does not give a definition of what animal is to be regarded as lost, but treats of losses which the onlooker must prevent. And whence is it derived that if you open (your hand) to him once, in the end you will open it many times? From (Ibid. 8) "But open shall you open your hand to him."
